The relatives of substance abusers are at a crossroads at least as often as their addicted family members.

Involving family members in the recovery process is essential for effective treatment of addiction, and it is also important that family members themselves receive help in dealing with their current life situation.

We are convinced that the best way to do this is for them to share their own experiences with each other, in a mutually supportive and empowering way, while the professional also provides information and clarifies certain issues.

The strength and motivation gained from the sharing of experiences and successful coping methods helps relatives to improve their mental state. The spiritual work that a person undertakes also helps to restore the connection between family members.

You will find an accepting, supportive atmosphere when you come to us!

Date and Time: Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00.
Registration: call Anna Juhász Balogh at +36 1 224 01 22. An individual consultation will precede joining the group.

    Drug Rehabilitation Home in Ráckeresztúr

The Ráckeresztúr Drug Rehabilitation Home, which sees itself as a drug-free community, provides professional and human support to its residents, with the aim of helping them to overcome their drug addiction through their own life choices, with the support of the staff and the therapeutic community. Our goal is to develop not only a drug-free, but a self-sustaining, fulfilling, substance-free lifestyle.

There are 35 men between the ages of 16 and 35 in recovery at the facility. The professional staff includes psychiatrists, doctors, pastors and social workers. The therapy consists of three phases. In each phase, different competences are acquired. At the end of the therapy, they can attend a follow-up session. The aim of aftercare is to provide our formerly addicted friends who have achieved abstinence with the help they need to reintegrate into society, so that a life without drug use can be an option.

Save the Falling Youth Mission Support Foundation
    (Zsibriki Rehabilitation Institute)

A non-governmental organization founded in 1990 by Reformed pastors and presbyters with church support, seeing the social exclusion of addicts and perceiving the shortcomings of the care system. The Foundation has expanded the residential treatment initially provided at the Zsibrik Rehabilitation Institute to include Community Care, which also provides outreach services, and a Transitional Institute for people leaving rehabilitation, which operates within a sheltered accommodation framework. All three types of care are run by the Foundation, which has been a public benefit NGO since 2000.

On Monday evenings, from 18:30-21:00, the Addiction Bridge Group will be looking for ways forward together after the addiction has been overcome.

    Who can attend the groups?

The group is open to anyone who does not use drugs, is not under the influence of any substance, and is not expecting to have a primary treatment problem.

Please contact us if you want to be part of the group:

Be abstinent from all mood-altering drugs,
If you are in a residential program, be near the end of it,
Volunteer to come to the group for yourself.

The above "requirements" are essential because they indicate that you are ready for aftercare. Remember that this group is for recovering addicts who have already shown strong results and are able to commit to long-term changes in their lifestyle.

Drug-free is not the only rule, but it is the most important rule, because abstinence is the backbone and cornerstone of real change.

When you have taken many steps, when you have made many good choices, when you have achieved some of your goals, you know exactly what a treasure your purity is!

Take pride in your purity, but don't get complacent! It is likely that you, too, encounter in your daily life the questions that almost without exception all our friends in your situation experience and ask themselves.

Your life, your situation, may not be like anyone else's, but the vast majority of the questions you and your peers ask are very similar.  Perhaps you yourself have felt that your answers to these questions have a great impact on your existence, and may even decide your purity in a given situation, so if you want to stay pure, you must find real answers to your real questions!

On this journey, we want to help you to ask your questions and find answers that are worth solving!

You are welcome and open to the Hanging Bridge Group, and beyond the "professional" questions, you can also be part of a great self-help group!

BUT! Abstinence is a prerequisite for belonging to the group! Please come to the group only if you want to work on keeping clean and on your physical, mental and spiritual development! If your goal is to achieve purity, feel free to contact us by phone or email and we will help you find a solution worthy of your help.

If you have been prosecuted for drug use, you can opt for a preventive education service, commonly known as diversion. Diversion can help occasional (non-addicted) drug users to avoid potential penalties and gain self-awareness with the help of professionals.

    What happens?

Diversion takes place in groups or individually. Group sessions are led by a staff member and a volunteer facilitator, and focus on a specific topic, in the form of free discussion and self-awareness exercises.

The group sessions take place at the following times:
    Tuesday 16:30-18:00
    Wednesday 17:00-18:30
    Thursday 17:00-18:30

    Address: 1122 Budapest. Csaba u. 3.

    How to apply?

11.11.01.2013, 11.11.2013, 11.11.2013, Tambu Centro de Cuba, Budapest.

    Contact:

Or you can come in person during office opening hours.

We will ask you for your papers from the police, prosecutor's office, patron's office with the case number on it. To start diversion, you will also need a preliminary assessment from a psychiatrist (a certificate that this form of diversion is right for you); if necessary, we can help you find out where to get this. Once you have all the paperwork, we will make an agreement and you can start the programme.

    The diversion process

The minimum duration of the diversion is 6 months, 12 sessions in total. You can come twice a month, every two weeks. No more than 30 days should elapse between two visits, because then your diversion will be interrupted and you will have to start all over again. After your first session, you will receive an official certificate of the start of the diversion, in 3 copies, which you must send to the authorities. At the end of the process, after 12 sessions, you will also be given 3 certificates of completion of the programme, which, if you send to the authorities, will close the case against you.
