Head of School
Social worker, family therapist
I now consider myself a professional. For people. I didn't get into addiction treatment by accident.
I had very silly thoughts and theories about life, myself and people. I had never heard of God, but I had an opinion about him. I thought of work as part of the miserable lives of small, grey people. I have now learned that everything I see and perceive is the fruit of people's sacrifice. Work cannot be spared, you have to keep learning and creating. Knowledge must be passed on to others, and then I feel useful.
God has taught me to be honest with myself and others, to be willing to do for myself and others, to be open to receive what I have learned and to accept the other person.
Addiction is both my past and my present. Now I think that's fine.
